System Solution
Thanks to its CANbus interface, Moxa's V481-T embedded computer can be used as a controller to control the ship's thrusters. Four of the V481-T's 8 serial ports connect a loading calculator, level gauge for measuring the fluid levels, UPS (uninterrupted power supply) for battery backup, and an integrated alarm system for emergencies. The V481-T, which features a wide temperature design fit for harsh environments, is located in the control room. The embedded computer in the bridge retrieves data from the V481-T via the IKS-6726 managed Ethernet switch.

 Why Moxa?

The V481-T embedded computer features eight 3-in-1 (RS-232/422/485) serial ports in one embedded box for communication and network redundancy

Integrated solutions in one embedded box: CANbus and multiple serial ports offer fast I/O communication and various configurations

Wide operating temperature (-35 to 75°C) ensures the stable and reliable operation of maritime applications

x86-based high performance CPU ensures better and more stable system performance

Moxa's x86-based industrial computers are cable-free and do not use a hard drive for greater reliability

Moxa's Ethernet switches support Turbo Ring for fast fault recovery when the network is disconnected accidentally
