Ethernet Interoperability
The VPort 704 is a modular industrial multi-service gateway designed with three Gigabit ports, three 10/100 Mbps fast Ethernet ports, and four expansion slots. The VPort 704 is a real powerhouse; with it you can create distributed SCADA systems for seamless field-site and field-to-center communications over wide-area distributed applications, such as oil and gas, pipeline, and trackside monitoring. The VPort 704 includes many interfaces that enable it to convert serial I/O, video, and other types of data into Ethernet packets for fast and reliable transmission over an IP network.
 
Mix and Match for a Tailored Network Solution
The VPort 704 accepts any combination of Moxa's VPM-7000 series communication modules to allow you to create the perfect combination of communication interfaces for a custom-made network solution. Current modules include an IP video encoder (VPM-7304), a serial-to-Ethernet module (VPM-7704), as well as other modules with scalable and expandable functionalities.
 
Gigabit Network Performance
The three built-in Gigabit and three 10/100 Mbps ports enable the VPort 704 to support port redundancy and Turbo Ring™ for super fast network fault recovery and guaranteed Gigabit network performance. The VPort 704’s high volume and high speed performance capabilities make it ideal for IP surveillance as well as other large scale distributed applications.
 
Simplified Installation and Operation
The Ethernet-interface backplane allows the VPort 704 to exchange any type of data with the Ethernet platform. The VPort 704 saves a significant amount of wiring and maintenance costs, and can be easily deployed in space-limited control cabinets. In addition, the VPort 704 is extremely easy to use thanks to its built-in visual GUI, and the support of centralized management allows users to manage and configure all of the modules through a single web console.
